River seals important business deal with Socios.com

Club Atletico River Plate sealed its partnership agreement with Chiliz, a leading blockchain solutions provider for the sports industry, to release its official Fan Token, $RIVER, through the app called Socios.com. Furthermore, the brand will appear on the professional squad’s and the reserve team’s official playing and training shorts.

The $RIVER Fan Token will allow fans to access new opportunities to actively connect with the team, by providing them, for the first time, with the possibility of taking part in some of the organization's decision-making process by voting on Socios.com.

Moreover, River Plate fans will enjoy a wide range of benefits, such as discounts and exclusive offers, the possibility of winning prizes and unique experiences, or interacting with other fans via chats, games, contests, and other app features.

Jorge Brito, President of River Plate, said: “We are very happy to announce this deal, which is so much more than a sponsorship agreement. It is a major commitment that allows us to develop a new business unit, to create a new genuine source of income, and to dabble into the digital assets market. At the same time, this deal will provide millions of fans with a new tool to take part in contests, games, and great experiences. Thus, River Plate is added to the list of world football’s great teams that have already launched their official Fan Token on Socios.com, such as Barcelona, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, and Corinthians, among others.”

The release date for River Plate’s Fan Token will be announced soon, as well as the number of tokens that will be up for sale, their price, and the content of the first survey. Those members whose membership fees are up to date will get a free token.
