Marcelo Gallardo’s team won again: it defeated the La Plata side 2-0 at the Mâs Monumental, with two goals from Juanfer Quintero and another solid collective performance.

After its winning debut against Barracas Central, River played in front of its home crowd again at the Mâs Monumental and delivered a strong victory, with captain Juan Fernando Quintero leading the way and scoring both goals to secure another three points.

River came out strong from the start and threatened down the flanks, with overlapping runs by Gonzalo Montiel and Matías Viña on the left. The Chilean had two clear chances going forward. After the early sending-off of Manuel Panaro, River tightened its grip on the game and took the lead thanks to a stunning left-footed free kick from Quintero.

River could have been further ahead by halftime, and made it count right after the restart with a fine play from Facundo Colidio and another left-footed finish by Quintero. Marcelo Gallardo’s team dominated with ease, kept Gimnasia’s limited attacks in check, and wrapped up an impressive victory at home.
