In its last match for the AFA tournament, River visited Colón seeking to continue adding in threes. El Millonario, that came from beating Aldosivi 1-0 in the Monumental, tied 0-0 with Colón, in Santa Fe, and thus guaranteed its participation in next year’s Copa Libertadores.
During the first half, the match was dynamic, and Gallardo’s team had two clear situations: a run from Alario that Broun blocked and a one-to-one from Larrondo, at the feet of the goalkeeper. Besides, Batalla was key with a couple of catches, a shot to the crossbar and Montiel, who took the plunge with an amazing save on the line.
In the second half, River tried to get close to the local’s goal with more protagonism, but could not score.
Thus, el Millonario closed a good participation in the First Division Tournament 2016/2017 and is already thinking of the match against Guaraní, for the round of sixteen of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Bridgestone.
