River romps to victory and pleases fans at the Mâs Monumental stadium

The team managed by Martín Demichelis beat Godoy Cruz 3-0 with two goals by Lucas Beltrán and one by Esequiel Barco, sitting second in the Professional Football League tournament.
River had the first chance with a free kick taken by Nico De La Cruz, which Diego Rodríguez saved by the near post. The Uruguayan midfielder also had a great opportunity, striking a right-footed crossed shot that went just wide of the goal. The away team threatened Franco Armani with a long-range shot from Nicolás Fernández; River responded with a high shot from Enzo Díaz, off a pass from José Paradela.
Godoy Cruz put Armani to the test again, with a shot from Lucas Arce. Near the 30th minute, Nacho Fernández set up a play on the right-hand side and tapped the ball to the center. Lucas Beltrán controlled the ball, got in position to shoot, and opened the scoring with a low right-footed shot. Before the end of the first half, Rodrigo Aliendro was about to set the score at 2-0, but his right-footed shot went just wide of Rodríguez’s left goalpost.
River went all out in the second half, and Paradela had the second chance to score: he ran up the left-hand side and made a lob pass from outside the box, beating the rival keeper, but his shot smashed against the crossbar. De La Cruz faced Rodríguez in a one-on-one, but the rival keeper blocked his shot and then, committed a foul on Aliendro, who had collected the rebound. Beltrán took the penalty and scored his second goal at the Mâs Monumental stadium.
On a quick counterattacking play, Godoy Cruz had a chance to score, but Armani reacted brilliantly to save a crossed right-footed shot from Luciano Cingolani. River was awarded another penalty, due to a foul on Enzo Díaz, which was converted by Esequiel Barco, setting the score at 3-0.
River played well and deserved to win, and is now sitting higher on the Professional Football League tournament, with 15 points. On Sunday, the team managed by Demichelis will play against Sarmiento, in Junín.
