When he first defended the colors of the River Plate jersey, the midfielder won two titles, both in 2014: the Final Tournament and the Championship Cup. At the international level, he won the 2014 South American Cup, the 2015 CONMEBOL Recopa, the 2015 CONMEBOL Libertadores, and the 2015 Suruga Bank Championship.

He then played for Spain's Atlético Madrid and Sevilla, Russia’s FC Zenit, and Mexico's Monterrey, and was also selected for Argentina’s national team.

-During the 2015 CONMEBOL Libertadores, the midfielder led his team's average match stats when it came ball touches (63.9), passes attempted (49.7), tackles (3.7) and interceptions (2.1), having played, at least, eight matches in the tournament. He was also the tournament’s third player in terms of most minutes on the field (1103).

-During his time in the Russian and Spanish leagues, and considering his participation in UEFA tournaments such as the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Super Cup, Kranevitter played a total of 80 matches for Atlético Madrid, Sevilla, and Zenit. His only assist was to Sebastián Driussi, during the match against FC Ufa, in the 2017 Russian Premier League tournament.

-Following his time in Europe, he landed in Mexico to wear the Monterrey jersey as of January 2020. His final season in the Mexican League saw him as Monterrey's fifth player in terms of matches played (19) during the tournament’s 2022-23 edition, being in the starting eleven 10 times and coming in as sub 9 times.

-With 912 minutes on the field during Mexico’s recent championship, he averaged 4.3 ball recoveries per match and 24.6 passes per match, with an efficacy of 83.9%. He made 23 tackles, 14 clearances, and 16 interceptions, recovering the ball 58 times in the center third (the team's second) and won 71.4% of all his headers, being the team leader.
