In January of this year, the internationalization plan of the River brand was launched. Its main objectives are positioning River Plate abroad as the Latin American club with the greatest worldwide recognition, generating new business in the international market and contributing to the substantial improvement of Argentinean football throughout the world.
The plan includes several actions throughout the year, such as the launch of the International Associate category, implementation of different Campus in Florida during July and the appointment of River ambassadors abroad.
The ambassadors are former River players who currently live abroad and whose time in the Club was not only significant for fans, but they also define and represent the River Philosophy.
In this first phase, the Ambassador mention together with the tricolor shirt as a present was granted to Gabriel Mercado, Emanuel Mammana, Javier Mascherano, Roberto Pereyra, Matías Kranevitter, Ramiro Funes Mori, Leandro Chichizola, Sebastián Driussi, Manuel Lanzini and Gonzalo Higuaín.
