Sharing out points in Varela In an electrifying match, River and Defensa y Justicia drew three all. Driussi (2) and Bareiro, own goal, scored for El Millonario.

For the 4th date of the First Division Tournament, River Plate came up against Defensa y Justicia in Florencio Varela and, after an exciting game that had River in the lead twice, they drew 3-3.
The first half was intense. River had the ball and was trying to gain depth, but it was the home team who took advantage of River’s pressure in the attack and struck first: Maidana knocked Bouzat down in the penalty area, the referee awarded a penalty, and Pochettino scored the 1-0 after 7 minutes.
El Millonario then started to look for a draw, so it began to play in the rival field. Ten minutes after the first goal, the equalizer was scored: Gonzalo Martínez appeared on the left side, sent the ball to the heart of the goal area and Bareiro, in an attempt to clear the shot, scored an own goal.
After the goal, River showed the best version of itself by creating plays from the middle of the field and by blocking Defensa’s ways. It didn’t take River long to reflect its dominance in the score, for by minute 26, Martínez appeared again on the left side, he threw a center pass and, after a faulty clearance, Driussi showed up in the goal area to score the 2-1 with a clinical finish that entered in the goal right next to the left goalpost.
Gallardo’s team’s performance was better and the partial result was fair, but the home team didn’t give up and leveled the score again: this time, with a header by BarbozaUllúa, who appeared on the right side and beat Batalla.
The second half kept the rhythm of the first 45 minutes, but River’s dominance became clearer during the first part of that half. A shot by Alario, which was cleared right on the goal line, and a save by Arias after a shot by Driussi were close to becoming River Plate’s third goal. However, the forward emerged from the lower divisions had an opportunity to get even and, by minute 18, he caught a rebound inside the area and shot the ball softly over the goalkeeper, scoring the partial 3-2.
The home team put some pressure again and, after a good play by Gómez on the left side, Ríos scored the final 3-3. Despite Martínez being sent off immediately afterwards, El Millonario kept trying until the very last minute, but they couldn’t change the result of a great match in which the teams ended up sharing out the points.
