River Won the Friendly Game in San Juan Marcelo Gallardo’s team drew the game by 1-1 during the 90 minutes and, in the penalty shoot out, it defeated San Martín by 4-1 at the Estadio del Bicentenario.

River Plate visited San Martín in San Juan withthe idea of adding game minutes before the First Division championship begins. In this occasion, they disputed the BBVA Francés Cup.
During the first half, El Millonario proved to be somewhat superior, but the local team took advantage almost at the end thanks to Emanuel Dening’s goal. Before that, River had insinuated with a pass by Carlos Auzuqui and a kick from outside the area by Jorge Moreira. Luis Ardente controlled both situations.
During the second half, San Martín was outnumbered after Dening was sent off. Both teams had clear goal chances: Sergio Sagarzazu hit the crossbar with a powerful free shot kick, and Rodrigo Mora slashed the goalkeeper’s left postwith a header, which could have meant a draw. During the extra time, the Uruguayan wanted revenge and scored the draw after a great play between Ignacio Fernández and Exequiel Palacios.
During the penalties, Augusto Batalla became enormous to stop two kicks. River had 100 % effectivity and won by 4-1. For River, Fernandez, Ponzio, Larrondo and Mora scored, meanwhile, for San Martín, Ardente kick the goal. (Batalla stopped two kicks by Rusculleda and Lugo).
