The beginning of the match found River with no control of the ball and Aldosivi tried to take advantage of it. In this way, the away team began bothering Augusto Batalla: first, the goalkeeper blocked a low shot from Antonio Medina and then reacted very well towards a shot from outside the area by Neri Bandiera.

River answered with a high volley from Sebastián Driussi and a shift from Jorge Moreira, who sent a center backwards and Lucas Alario could not fully meet the ball. The last ones of the first half were for Aldosivi: Batalla was amazing when reacting to a header from Jonatan Galván and then, together with Nacho Fernández, he prevented Alan Alegre from scoring a goal.

In the second half, River changed. It began to exert pressure forward on Aldosivi, and took control of the game. El Millonario warned with a shot from Gonzalo Martínez and another one from Ariel Rojas. Then, the goalkeeper Matías Vega blocked a header from Alario, but relief arrived some seconds later in a set piece.

Martínez shot to the goal, the ball bounced off the goalkeeper and Lucas Martínez Quarta took the opportunity to score 1-0. Then, River closed the match and could have even broadened the difference through Marcelo Larrondo and Alario. Now, el Millonario is very close to qualifying for the Copa Libertadores of 2018. This Sunday, in Santa Fe, it will play the last round of the tournament against Colón.
