River wins at the Mâs Monumental stadium and qualifies for next round The team managed by Martín Demichelis beat The Strongest 2-0, with great goals by Rodrigo Aliendro and Miguel Borja, securing qualification for the CONMEBOL Libertadores round of 16.

River had another outstanding CONMEBOL Libertadores evening. Following their impressive qualifying win over Fluminense in the previous matchday, River Plate secured a place in the round of 16 by dominating the match and defeating The Strongest. River exhibited sharpness in attack and solidity in defense, with Franco Armani making crucial saves to protect the lead.
After Nico De La Cruz's crossed shot, which was saved by Guillermo Viscarra, Rodrigo Aliendro opened the scoring with a perfectly placed shot from the top of the box, off a tap from the Uruguayan midfielder. Then, The Strongest had a few scoring chances, but Armani reacted brilliantly, especially to a low shot from Enrique Triverio and a medium height shot from Jeyson Chura.
River made the most of each player's skills and performance and created three clear chances: First, Lucas Beltrán was not able to set up Nacho Fernández and, later on, his right-footed shot went high. In the final minutes of the first half, Aliendro collected the ball in the box and struck a right-footed shot that could have been the second goal.
At the start of the second half, after some attempts by the opposing team, Nacho made a run up the left wing, collected a long pass and tapped the ball to Beltrán, who failed to backheel it. Around the 65th minute, River’s no. 10 had another great opportunity with a crossed header, off a cross from the right wing, which slightly deflected off Viscarra’s left post. In the end, Miguel Borja took advantage of a rebound in the penalty area and tapped the ball into the goal, setting the score at 2-0.
With this win, River has qualified for the round of 16 and now awaits the draw to find out which team they will face. Regarding the local tournament, River will visit Barracas Central on Saturday, looking to maintain or widen the 10-point lead over the second-placed team.
