Marcelo Gallardo’s team created plenty of chances and found the winning goal near the end against Atlético Tucumán, thanks to a long-range shot from Facundo Colidio.

In the first 45 minutes, River was clearly superior and dominated the match, with strong attacks down the flanks and several chances from Miguel Borja, Maximiliano Meza, Franco Mastantuono, Rodrigo Aliendro (who hit the post with a right-footed shot), and a header from Germán Pezzella. Although the team was not under much pressure defensively, Franco Armani made a spectacular save to deny Leandro Díaz and keep a clean sheet.

The second half unfolded in similar fashion, with Tomás Durso being the key player for the visiting team. Around the 80th minute, Facundo Colidio played a one-two with Mastantuono and fired a low left-footed shot into the left post to secure a well-deserved win for River, which now provisionally sits in second place in its group with 18 points.
