River wasn't successful at Quilmes

The match at the Quilmes Stadium began balanced, with River taking possession of the ball and Estudiantes maintaining the good level shown by Iván Gómez. The first chance of the match was for Mariano Pavone, with a right shot that was no danger for German Lux's goal.

The encounter continued almost without any dangerous situations, except for a cross-shot by Julián Álvarez (who replaced Nacho Scocco) in an advanced position, and a good outburst of the young player, who reached the 18 yard box by the right and sent a good center to Lucas Pratto, but the forward couldn't calculate Mariano Andújar's error and was unable to score the goal.

In the second half, Estudiantes struck fast with a free kick from Gaston Fernandez which went deviated by touching Nacho Fernandez and took Lux by surprise scoring (1-0) for Estudiantes. River then came close to a draw with a shot from Santiago Sosa that went very close, while Pavone had a second chance in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper of "El Millonario".

After a very good collective play, Nacho Fernandez made a high shot in the goal of the area. Another player who had a chance was Juan Quintero, with a shot that went over the crossbar. The clearest one, near the end, was for Álarez: the young player powered a strong shot, but Andújar responded well, avoiding a draw.
