Surprisingly, before the 1st minute, Instituto took the lead with a crossed left-footed shot from Santiago Rodríguez, which was checked by VAR due to an alleged handball. Then, River took over the game, determined to score the equalizer. The team had very clear chances, such as a shot from Esequiel Barco while facing the goal, which was saved by Manuel Roffo, and another one from Nacho Fernández that deflected away.

Pablo Solari had three consecutive chances: a great header off a cross from Milton Casco, which was deflected away by the keeper, a one-on-one in which Roffo made another save, and a shot off a corner kick that went just wide of the far post. Then, Barco put the keeper to the test again, but the well-deserved equalizer was scored by Nicolás De La Cruz, crossing a great low right-footed shot.

In the first minutes of the second half, after Leonel Mosevich was sent off after double, River set the score at 2-1 following a spectacular collective play, as Nacho Fernández unleashed a powerful left-footed shot into the goal. River went for more and Ezequiel Parnisari prevented a goal from Lucas Beltrán, who was getting ready to score a header off a cross from the right wing. An active Barco also had his chance with a left-footed shot that narrowly missed Roffo’s right post.

Toward the end, Beltrán struck from outside the box and, off a deflection, sealed the score at 3-1. Thanks to this win, River now sits with 50 points and holds a ten-point lead, while awaiting the remaining matchday results. Time to focus on the Cup: on Tuesday, River will play against The Strongest, at the Mâs Monumental stadium, hoping to qualify for the CONMEBOL Libertadores Round of 16.
