River turned the score around in Rosario and won a great match Marcelo Gallardo’s team was losing 2-0, but it turned the match around with a great collective game and great goals by Nacho Fernández, Rafael Borré and Nacho Scocco.

In a tight and even match beginning, River was the one that brought about the first dangerous situations, with connected attacking plays. Matías Suárez made an overlapping run on the left and shot a center pass which Julián Álvarez headed as comfortably as he could. Then, no. 7 and Rafael Borré were the protagonists of another situation. In one of the home team’s first chances, Franco Armani responded excellently to a shot by Luis Leal; in that same play, Gonzalo Montiel was quick to block him.

Exequiel Palacios smashed a shot against a goalpost and Suárez had a very clear opportunity, after a collective play and a high right-footed shot. In River’s best moment, Newell’s stroke twice with a header by Cristian Lema and a shot by Leal. In the middle, Palacios could have evened the score. However, el Millionario didn’t give up.

River scored with a great goal out of a free-kick by Nacho Fernández, and then had three chances to even the score before the end of the first half, in a play which couldn’t end in a goal, a header by Lucas Martínez Quarta and a one-on-one by Suárez, who wasn’t able to score when Alan Aguerre came off his line.

River entered the field determined to even the score and started pressuring in the attack, even though the first opportunity was a shot by Denis Rodríguez. Then, Palacios came close to scoring the second goal with a crossed right-footed shot. In another play, Juan Quintero threatened Aguerre with a powerful free-kick and then the goalkeeper blocked a good shot from the right by Gonzalo Montiel.

The equalizer came after another great collective play: Nacho Scocco fired a shot towards the center, Borré got comfortable and the ball was in the perfect place to score the second goal. A few minutes later, after a long shot, Scocco caught the ball and scored a spectacular goal, setting the score 3-2 for el Millionario, that finished the match with plays by Borré (he smashed the ball against a goalpost) and Lucas Pratto.

Thus, Gallardo’s team won three important points in the Superleague and now awaits the next matchday, against San Lorenzo, and the Argentine Cup final against Santiago del Estero’s Central Córdoba.
