El Millonario said present once again in the Monumental Stadium for the national tournament, after having classified for the Copa Libertadores. In this opportunity, it received Rosario Central with the aim of winning to shorten the distance in the leadership of the championship.

The match began keenly-contested, being played in the midfield and without a clear dominating team. Both found difficult to generate peril in the rival goal, but the first chance was in a high header from Lucas Martínez Quarta after a corner kick.

Rosario Central answered with an individual play from Teófilo Gutiérrez, who hooked the ball and hit a cross-shot, but he found Augusto Batalla’s good response on his right goalpost. Then, Marco Ruben hit a high header after a center shot from the left.

In the second half, el Millonario changed its mood and cornered Central, which practically did not bother Batalla, while River generated several clear plays that could have inclined the match in its favor.

First, Sebastián Driussi struck a shot from outside on Diego Rodríguez’s right goalpost, then Ariel Rojas tried from outside and Central’s goalkeeper answered properly. Nacho Fernández had another chance with a free kick and the clearest two were at the feet of Lucas Alario (cross-shot that Rodríguez caught) and in Driussi’s head (just centimeters away from a goalpost).

Thus, River added a point and this Wednesday it will have the chance to get closer to the top, when it visits Atlético Tucumán for the postponed match of the 22nd round.
