River was superior since the beginning and during all the first half it virtually did not let Chacarita play. In the first minutes, Pedro Fernández committed a clear penalty to Ignacio Scocco that the referee Hernán Mastrángelo did not give: the forward dodged and weaved him and the rival shoved him aside. Then, the assistant referee Hernán Maidana disallowed with certainty Lucas Pratto’s goal due to offside position.

River continued seeking for the 1-0 and had chances at Marcelo Saracchi’s feet, who sent a center shot that got deflected and almost got into the goalkeeper’s first goalpost. Then, Pratto struck a header after a center kick from Nicolás De La Cruz that passed near Fernández’s right goalpost and with the same formula, the 27 passed in a low center from the Uruguayan midfielder.

Near the end, Hernán Petryk held De La Cruz in the area and this time the penalty was given: Scocco was in charge and he scored 1-0 for el Millonario, but when the additional minute was about to end, in the first dangerous play that Chacarita created, Nahuel Menéndez got into the area and tied 1-1.

In the second half, and after a very clear situation for Chacarita in which Federico Rosso missed the score under the goal, it all belonged to Gallardo’s team: Nacho Fernández had four very clear opportunities to score 2-1: in the first one, he kicked from outside with little precision and then his shot found Fernández well in within the area.

In the following, Fernández shot from outside and the ball struck the crossbar of Chacarita’s goal. Bruno Zuculini also had his chance, with a right shot in the beginning of the area that went high. When Juan Quintero got in the game, River gained football and clarity in three-quarters of the field: in one, the Colombian enabled his fellow countryman Rafael Borré, but the goalkeeper stifled his shout.

One of the last chances was for Camilo Mayada, who blew Fernández’s left goalpost out after a corner kick and Nacho Fernández was also the protagonist of the last one with a left kick that passed very near the rival goalkeeper’s right angle.

El Millonario’s next commitment will be next Saturday for the Superliga, against Patronato, in Paraná.
