ESRiver secures a big win against Universitario
Marcelo Gallardo’s team kicked off the CONMEBOL Libertadores group stage campaign with a 1-0 victory in Lima. Paulo Díaz scored the match-winning goal.
The “Millonario” embarked on a new Cup campaign, showing determination to defeat Universitario. A remarkable team and individual performance, coupled with the Chilean defender’s goal, saw Gallardo’s squad dominate in Peru and nearly extend the lead.
River’s attack stood out, with Facundo Colidio showing great movement and involvement, while Franco Mastantuono and Maximiliano Meza remained consistently active. At the back, River remained solid, with Franco Armani standing strong whenever challenged.
