River said goodbye to the Superliga with a smile El Millonario beat San Lorenzo 2-0 in the Monumental Stadium: goals were scored by Ignacio Fernández and Rafael Borré.

River dug his heels in the field and quickly became the protagonist of the match. So was it that in the first minutes, Juan Quintero properly enabled Gonzalo Martínez, who was blocked in the door of the big area by José Devecchi.

San Lorenzo virtually did not bother Franco Armani and River had several very clear situations to gain advantage: the rival goalkeeper was over-confident after a shot from Marcelo Saracchi from the right and the ball struck into the goalpost; then, Quintero enabled Ignacio Scocco, who kicked a powerful shot that hit the right goalpost of San Lorenzo’s goal.

In the last one of the first half, Scocco stood face to face with Devecchi, but he missed it and could not control the ball at the heart of the area. River deserved to go to half time with an advantage on the scoreboard.

In the second half, River was able to show its superiority on the scoreboard and got to the 1-0 by means of Nacho Fernández: Pratto made a good move and passed it to the 26, who went in through the center of the area and struck a high left-footed kick, impossible to stop for San Lorenzo’s goalkeeper.

Then, Enzo Pérez warned with a right-footed kick that went near the left goalpost and Armani appeared to brilliantly block a header from Tomás Conechny. Then, River scored the second one with a good definition from Rafael Borré and Rodrigo Mora shook the crossbar with a marvelous free kick.

El Millonario got the victory in the closing of the Superliga and, with an ensured qualification for next year’s Copa Sudamericana, on May 23 the time will arrive for Marcelo Gallardo’s team last show of the semester: it will receive Flamengo, for the Copa Libertadores, with the aim of achieving the first position in the groups zone.
