River qualifies with a goal fest in San Luis Marcelo Gallardo's team beat Barracas Central 3-0 in the Argentine Cup round of 32, thanks to a goal by Milton Casco and two by Agustin Palavecino.

Determined to take the lead, River pressed Barracas Central right from the start. Agustin Palavecino was the first one to put Maximiliano Gagliardo to the test with a shot from outside the box. Then, Milton Casco opened the scoring: the defender controlled the rebound and sent a tremendous right-footed shot into the right-hand corner of the rival goal.
Barracas Central counterattacked and had two clear chances to even the score: first, Bruno Sepulveda made a good individual play but was met with a great response from Franco Armani; then, Neri Bandiera struck a crossed header that narrowly missed River Plate’s goal. However, River had a better end to the first half with two chances at Santiago Simon’s feet: a header saved by Gagliardo, following a dribble, and a cross that was also saved by the keeper.
River had a smooth second half, controlling Barracas Central and scoring, in the 20th minute, another great goal, as a result of a collective play that culminated in an exquisite backheel shot from Rodrigo Aliendro and a nutmeg by Palavecino. Toward the end, River had to reorganize its defense when David Martinez was sent off after double.
Palavecino finally set the score at 3-0. From outside the box, the midfielder struck a phenomenal right-footed shot that paralyzed Gagliardo. Thus, River qualified for the Argentine Cup round of 16, where the team will play against Defensa y Justicia. In the meantime, River will visit Velez Sarsfield in Liniers, on Sunday, for the local tournament.
