River pushed for the win and truly deserved it in Santa Fe El Millonario created many chances against Unión but was thwarted by the keeper’s great saves and three shots that hit the posts. Matchday 9 of the PFL ended 0-0.

The home team pressed early in the match, and Franco Armani was very alert in the opening moments, making a quick low save and another high one to prevent Unión’s advances. River soon got into the game and began creating danger, but Adrián Balboa couldn’t capitalize on a prime chance, missing a volley after a pass from the left.
After that warning, River took over: Rodrigo Aliendro brilliantly set up Franco Mastantuono with a header, but the young player couldn’t convert in the one-on-one. Leandro González Pirez won the aerial duel on a corner kick and forced a great save from Tiago Cardozo, who managed to deflect the ball before it hit the post.
River kept pressing, and Santiago Simón nearly scored the opener after a long pass that Borja nodded down for him. In the closing moments of the first half, River won another aerial duel with Paulo Díaz: his first header went off target, but his second hit the left post. Cardozo then made a key save on the rebound from González Pirez.
The second half lost the momentum of the first one. The first real chance came around the 65-minute mark, with a right-footed shot from Aliendro that went high, and was followed by a dangerous cross from Mateo Del Blanco on the left that Unión’s forwards failed to capitalize on.
González Pirez was denied by the post once more, after a brilliant right-footed shot from a corner that clanged off the top right of Cardozo’s goal. This draw brings River to 14 points in the league. Up next, the team will face Huracán at the Mâs Monumental stadium next Saturday.
