River Plate and Turkish Airlines: a package deal for the jersey Starting on Sunday, the Turkish flag carrier will appear as main sponsor on the centre chest of River’s jersey.

As of Sunday, during the match against Lanus at the Monumental stadium, the team will wear a new main sponsor on the center chest of its jersey: Turkish Airlines, the Turkish flag carrier the Club signed a contract with for three years.

The package deal includes the internationalization of the River brand in Europe, working jointly on different promotion actions and pieces for the entertainment of the more than 90 million passengers who take their commercial flights. In that sense, Turkish will take an important role in River’s participation in different sports congresses and events held in the main European cities.

River’s president, Rodolfo D’Onofrio, expressed: “It’s a very important commercial agreement for the Institution and this partnership is the result of a global vision that will boost the expansion of both brands. Turkish Airlines is a global brand and one of the most prestigious airlines in the world”. 

At the same time, the president of Turkish Airlines, Mr Ilker Ayci, commented the following on the sponsorship agreement: “We are very happy to sponsor River Plate, one of the most important teams in the Americas. This association raises our company’s interest in supporting sport and the importance of team work to achieve success.”

This strategic partnership will last until July 2022 and it includes the advertisement on the jersey’s chest and the training kit, as well as experiences such as the meet & greet with River players, visits to the Museum, tickets for the home matches and activities at the Monumental stadium.
