River loses away against Barracas Central The rival team enjoyed a 2-1 win on Matchday 22 of the Professional League. Nonetheless, Martín Demichelis' team maintains a comfortable lead of 10 points, with the results of the remaining matches still pending.

River faced a challenging start and struggled to maintain a strong presence on the field. The home team took advantage of this and threatened River’s goal, but Franco Armani made an excellent save on Francisco Álvarez's low shot off a corner kick. Nevertheless, Barracas Central managed to open the scoring with a header from Carlos Alce on another set-piece opportunity.
River tried to attack, but was not able to threaten the opponent's goal, playing long passes to the forwards. Toward the end of the first half, River had some chances: Matías Kranevitter tapped the ball to Salomón Rondón, and Andrés Desábato quickly came off his line; Elías Gómez collected the rebound but was unable to convert it into an equalizing goal before the ball was taken away from him. In one of the final chances, Agustín Palavecino headed the ball, and Enzo Díaz scored an amazing goal, which was disallowed for offside.
In the second half, River started off on a much better note, dominating the opening minutes and displaying promising plays in the opponent's half. However, the home team that extended the lead to 2-0 when Mauro Peinipil capitalized on a series of rebounds. River reduced the deficit thanks to Miguel Borja, who swiftly capitalized on a rebound from Agustín Palavecino’s shot.
Nacho Fernández entered the field, and Palavecino came close to scoring with a toe-punt that deflected off the near post. Barracas Central failed to exploit a counterattack, and Armani reacted well to save what could have been Barracas' third goal. A few minutes later, River's No. 1 blocked another shot from outside the box by his left post.
Despite the loss, River remains the sole leader of the championship, maintaining a 10-point lead, with the results of the remaining matches still pending. This Wednesday, on Matchday 23 of the Professional League, River will face Colón from Santa Fe, at the Mâs Monumental stadium.
