River introduces new back-up players On Friday, February 4th, at the Monumental Stadium’s multipurpose room, River Plate officially introduced the players who have joined the professional squad.

The event was attended by Jorge Brito (President), Matias Patanian (1st Vice President), Ignacio Villarroel (2nd Vice President), Stefano Di Carlo (General Secretary), Enzo Francescoli (Technical Secretary), coach Marcelo Gallardo, and board members.
The event was also attended by players Emanuel Mammana, Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, Elias Gomez, Juan Quintero, Tomas Pochettino, and Esequiel Barco.
Brito said: “I hope that you can adapt very well, and we really trust you. As it will be a very competitive year, we at the board have made significant efforts to build a competitive squad.”
For his part, Gallardo added: “I would like to welcome the players who have joined us and wish them all the best. Having a great squad poses the significant challenge of building the best team possible, with a performance that identifies us.”
Francescoli admitted: “We are very happy, because it is not an easy market for Argentine football. I believe we have done everything we could, with the spirit of always striving to do better. Internal competition considerably improves performance.”
