The first match situation was at Lucas Pratto’s feet, who received the ball from the left and fired a right-footed shot that went above Arsenal’s goal. Then, after a very good collective play, Jorge Carrascal shot a center pass and Nacho Scocco couldn’t shoot comfortably, almost at the edge of the goal area.

Arsenal scored in the first chance he had, by means of a shot by Ezequiel Piovi after catching a rebound out of a corner kick. However, el Millionario kept on trying and Julián Álvarez almost evens the score by means of a left-footed shot saved by the goalkeeper. In the next attempt, Enrique Bologna reacted well to a clear situation created by Juan Kaprof.

In another attempt made by River, Robert Rojas surprised everyone with a shot from afar which was saved by Maximiliano Gagliardo. The home team’s second goal was scored by Kaprof, but River didn’t resign itself and had two chances, through shots by Pratto and Carrascal which were blocked by the goalkeeper.

In the second half, River was more determined to even the score: the first opportunity consisted of a high header by Pratto, but in the next one, after a great assist by no. 27, Scocco fired a right-footed volley and scored. The tie almost arrived by means of a forced header by Lucas Martínez Quarta, but Arsenal scored the third goal through a shot from the edge of Nicolás Giménez’s area.

El Millionario didn’t give up and kept on attacking. Carrascal almost scores a right-footed shot which hit the goalpost and then came the second goal: a corner kick by Juan Quintero followed by a header by Pratto which hit the crossbar and Scocco pushed it on the line. Thus, River was one goal away from evening the score, something which was well-deserved.

Finally, the 3-3 score arrived after a good play between Quintero and Matías Suárez, who shot a center pass from the right side towards the back and Fernando Torrent scored an own goal in an attempt to clear the field. Then, the Colombian player, no. 10, almost scores out of a free kick, but there wasn’t enough time and the final result was a tie in Sarandí.

Now, River will play against Boca Juniors on Tuesday, for the second leg of the Libertadores Cup semi-final. Meanwhile, it will host Colón at the Monumental Stadium on Tuesday 29th for the Superleague.
