River drew without goals in the Monumental Marcelo Gallardo’s team couldn’t beat Unión despite having clear opportunities. The game that resumed the local tournament drew at 0-0.

The First Division Championship was resumed, and El Millonario jumped again into the field of the Monumental. On the 15th date, River received Unión from Santa Fé with the objective of keep adding points to its score and to tune in details before their debut on the CONMEBOL Libertadores Bridgestone Cup.
During the first 45 minutes, River went out determined to control the ball and to handle the threads of the game by playing from behind and reaching the rival area through the sides. Carlos Auzqui, who received the ball through a corner shot from the left, leaded the first opportunity of the game. He kicked the ball, but it diverted.
Later, the visitors worried with a shot by Diego Godoy that went far from Augusto Batalla’s goal, and with another kick by Manuel De Iriondo, which found a brilliant reaction in River’s goalkeeper. Before that, El Millonario had set a very good attacking play between Auzqui and Camilo Mayada, which ended in a diverted shot by Gonzalo Martínez.
During the second half, River had a good streak on the rival’s area, but couldn’t score. Ignacio Fernández kicked the ball from outside the area, the ball hit the crossbar and it bounced in the grass with controversy: Was it completely in? In an instant, Auzqui had a very clear one, and Nereo Fernández blocked it face to face. One more: a shot by Sebastián Driussi went by near the right post of Unión’s goalkeeper.
The rival team had a few opportunities to score, while Driussi could have also opened the score by air: after a center shot by Martínez, he performed a low header blocked by Fernández.
After this draw, El Millonario will debut on Wednesday at the Libertadores Cup in Colombia against Deportivo Independiente Medellín.
