RIVER CROWNED PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPION!

The team managed by Martín Demichelis celebrated with fans in a party atmosphere at the Mâs Monumental stadium: the lap of honor topped off River’s successful semester, including the derby win against Boca Juniors.

The party started early on, when a crowd arrived at the stadium to enjoy a celebration-filled day. Following a spectacular welcome by fans, River quickly took the lead with an excellent play by Leandro González Pirez and a brilliant shot on goal from Lucas Beltrán. Then, Nico De La Cruz scored off a powerful shot and, by the 30th minute, Esequiel Barco scored off a penalty kick, setting the score at 3-0.

The second half went smoothly for River, with the team maintaining the lead despite Estudiante's goal by Mauro Méndez. The Mâs Monumental stadium shook from all the cheering for the championship win, two matchdays away from the end of the local tournament, on top of the qualification for the CONMEBOL Libertadores round of 16. Next Thursday, River will face Talleres, in a new round of the Argentine Cup.

Some impressive stats: River has collected 57 points in 25 matches, comprising 18 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses. River’s attack power was reflected in the 45 goals for, and it's one of the teams that conceded the fewest goals (15). Besides, this championship win showcased the team's character, as well as the 1-0 win over Boca Juniors, and a remarkable consistency to remain in the top positions.
