In the 26th match of the Tournament Julio Humberto Grondona, River visited Crucerodel Norte in Chaco and won the match 1-0. With several of his regular starters reserved for the next match in the Copa Sudamericana, the team of Marcelo Gallardo was superior to its rival during the match and it was able to get three points in the local championship.

From the beginning, River stood in front of a rival that tried to keep its defensive order and do some counterattacks. TabaréViudez was the most important forward in the initial stage as he had may clear chances: first, when he feinted in front of the area and empowered Solari, who failed to hit the ball, then after a good combination with Saviola, he won in speed against rival defenders and faced the goalkeeper, who arrived just in time to avoid the first goal of the match. Then, River controlled the match but it wasn't very precise, while Crucero could only trouble River with a shot from long distance of Perez and a header by Tomassini that Chiarini controlled smoothly.

The expected goal came in the beginning of the second half and it was a real goal: a cross of Driussi to Gonzalo Martínez, who scored the 1-0 with hierarchy.

After the goal by el Pity, River had a better performance, it started to corner its rival and it created several chances with which it could have increased its advantage in the scoreboard. With an active Saviola, the attacks of Mayada and the clarity of Pisculichi(the rival defense cleared a ball on the line in one of his shots, and then another one ofSolari), River could have scored a deserved second goal.
Crucero, meanwhile, threatened with some centers on the final minutes, but this was not enough to prevent the fair victory of Marcelo Gallardo's team.

Thus, el Millonario celebrated again in the local tournament and it is now thinking in its next match: on Wednesday, in Ecuador, it will close the serie against la Liga de Quito looking for a place in the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana.
