River beats Pachuca in Dallas Martín Demichelis’ team had a strong performance in the friendly held in the US and secured a 1-0 win with a splendid goal from Miguel Borja in the second half.

The first 45 minutes were entertaining, featuring dangerous situations for both teams. At first, River had a close opportunity with a set piece, and then Pachuca had two clear chances, with a long-range left-footed shot from Salomón Rondón and a strike from Pedro Pedraza, both skillfully saved by Franco Armani. River responded with a promising play from Manu Lanzini, who regained possession in River’s half and advanced, but it did not materialize.
Pachuca once again pressed on the left through Oussama Idrissi, delivering a dangerous cross that Armani cleared. In another opportunity for River’s rival, Rondón failed to connect with a cross from the right. River ended slightly better with promising chances, including one for Nacho Fernández (assisted by Esequiel Barco) and a right-footed shot from outside the box by Facundo Colidio, following a defensive lapse from the rival and a failed clearance by Carlos Moreno.
At around the 47-minute mark, Demichelis’ team executed a fantastic team play, and Rodrigo Aliendro found himself one-on-one with Pachuca’s keeper but couldn’t convert the chance. In the following play, Miguel Borja timed a long ball perfectly, outpaced his marker, and finished superbly low to make it 1-0 in Dallas. Armani had an excellent response to a one-on-one with Miguel Rodríguez.
Armani once again demonstrated great composure against a long-range shot from Deossa, making a low save. Pachuca had a clear opportunity with Domínguez, who skewed his finish in a one-on-one from the right, following a play by Pedraza. River dominated the match until the end (except for a left-footed shot from Rondón, saved by the River captain), and secured the win in its last formal appearance before the PFL Cup debut against Argentinos Juniors next Sunday at the Mâs Monumental stadium.
