On another evening playing at home, following the South American World Cup qualifiers break, River reunited with fans and quickly took the lead with a goal by Miguel Borja before the 3rd minute. The Colombian deflected a pass from Santiago Simón into the net, celebrating the 1-0 score; thus, River reaffirmed itself on the field and hardly faced any challenges.

With good attacking plays, the team almost scored the second goal with good interventions from Nico De La Cruz and Nacho Fernández. Borja came close to scoring his brace with a right-footed shot that deflected away, but De La Cruz finally scored the second goal from outside the box.

In the early minutes of the second half, Borja’s shot was saved by Alejandro Medina; then, the Arsenal keeper once again came up with a save to deny Manu Lanzini, who tried to chip the ball to culminate a good team play. The away team had a good chance to reduce the deficit, but Leandro Moreira failed to score from close range. However, around the 57th minute, Juan Cejas sent a cross that deflected into the net, catching Armani off guard and setting the score at 2-1.

River regained possession and created two very clear opportunities, with a free-kick from Nacho Fernández and a long-range right-footed shot from Esequiel Barco, which narrowly missed the rival goal. Arsenal almost scored the equalizer with a left-footed shot from Adrián Spörle, which was met with a good response from Armani by his right post.

Around the 75th minute, following an overlapping run by Milton Casco, the defender's cross struck the hand of an opposing player, and, with the help of VAR, Fernando Espinoza awarded a penalty. Borja took the penalty and set the score at 3-1 at the Mâs Monumental stadium. Near the end, Enzo Pérez almost scored a fantastic goal, but his left-footed shot smashed against the crossbar.

River won again and bounced back from the previous match setback. On Thursday, the team will host Atlético Tucumán at the Mâs Monumental stadium, on Matchday 5 of the championship.
