On a night to remember, Argentina cruises to victory at the Mâs Monumental

Argentina defeated Venezuela 3-0 in the South American Qualifiers, with two goals from captain Lionel Messi and one from Lautaro Martínez, in a match that featured several River Plate figures.
Once again, Argentina proved unstoppable at River Plate’s home. Long before kickoff, the area around the Mâs Monumental buzzed with the promise of an emotional evening, with Messi at center stage. Lionel Scaloni’s team imposed its superiority from the start, finally breaking the deadlock late in the first half.
Julián weaved past defenders in a superb solo run before setting up Messi, who finished with class. In the second half, Argentina pressed for more, but goalkeeper Rafael Romo stood firm—until Lautaro Martínez nodded in the second goal, and Messi completed his brace. Alongside Álvarez, Franco Mastantuono was in the starting lineup, with Exequiel Palacios and Giuliano Simeone entering after the break.
This victory takes Argentina to 38 points from 17 matches, with a record of twelve wins, two draws, and three losses. The final matchday of the qualifiers comes next Tuesday, with Argentina visiting Ecuador.
