On the fifth day of pre-season which takes place in the ESPN Orlando Resort, Maidana took stock of their training and told us how they are preparing for the start of the tournament in August.
In an exclusive with the official site, Maidana spoke about the great physical progress they are achieving. He feels confident that their training, a combination of physical and tactical exercises, will assure a good start at the important competitions, which they will face in the second half of the year.
In addition, he recalled that this was his eighth year at the Club and his sixteenth preseason.
"I approach pre-season with the same emotion and sense of responsibility I had when I started. As time passes, I continue to gain experience, and physically I feel great and confident. Hopefully we can go on like this".
Finally, Maidana discussed their training approach during the four practices that have taken place since the arrival of the team to Orlando. "We did training exercises for different situations that could present during the game; that allowed the coaching staff to focus on the specific roles that each one of us plays throughout the game".
"We listen to what we are asked from the coaching staff and try to run it," he concluded.
