Great performance and landslide win over Huracán Thanks to a great collective performance and high-level sole moves, River won 3-0, widening its lead at the top of the Professional Football League, with a brace from Salomón Rondón and a penalty from Esequiel Barco.

River was like a steamroller from the start, cornering Huracán and setting a very dynamic rhythm of play in the attack. The first chance came about when Salomón Rondón blocked a clearing attempt and struck a shot that went just wide of the goal. On another good collective play, Nacho Fernández tapped the ball to Lucas Beltrán, but the forward struck an off-target shot. The Venezuelan player opened the scoring, after taking a penalty kick awarded for a foul on him.
River didn’t give the home team room to react and, following an excellent triangle passing sequence, Esequiel Barco set up Rondón, who did a nutmeg on Lucas Chaves with his left foot, setting the score at 2-0. Huracán almost reduced the deficit with a shot from Guillermo Benítez, which went high, but River went for more: Enzo Pérez had a chance outside the box, as well as Milton Casco, with a right-footed shot to the near post. Barco almost scored an incredible goal by subtly lofting the ball over the keeper; later, following an overlapping run by Enzo Díaz, Huracán blocked a goal on the line. The first half ended with Franco Armani saving a great shot from Matías Cóccaro.
At the very beginning of the second half, Barco took a free kick from the left-hand side: a great shot from the right-hand side that smashed against Chaves’s left post. On another clear chance, Casco slipped upfield and Rondón was close to scoring a backheel goal. River was awarded a penalty for another foul on Rondón; Chaves saved Salomón's shot, and Enzo Pérez scored but his goal was disallowed for pitch invasion. Barco took the penalty and set the score at 3-0.
River finished the match in good form, exhibiting a great performance, and could have widened the lead even more, with chances at the feet of Miguel Borja, José Paradela and Matías Suárez. With this result, River claims another win in the tournament and remains at the top with 24 points, sitting 4 points above the second best. River’s next match will be on Thursday, at the Mâs Monumental, against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata.
