ESGallardo, Alvarez, Enzo, and Casco, recognized by the fans The three River Plate players are part of the 2021 ideal team of the Americas chosen by fans, according to the survey by El Pais.
Although Marcelo Gallardo didn’t come first in the survey for journalists (Palmeira’s Abel Ferreira was the winner), el Muñeco got the most fan votes and was, therefore, chosen as the coach of the 2021 ideal team of the Americas.
Furthermore, three River players are part of the ideal team's starting 11: Julian Alvarez was the most voted player, with 37%, outvoting Hulk, Gabriel Barbosa, Gustavo Gomez, and Weverton.
Enzo Perez and Milton Casco were also voted by fans into the ideal team of the Americas.
The starting 11 are: Weverton (Palmeiras), M. Rocha (Palmeiras), Gustavo Gomez (Palmeiras), Piero Hincapie (Talleres), Milton Casco (River), Damian Diaz (Barcelona), Bruno Piñatares (Barcelona), Enzo Perez (River), Matias Zaracho (Mineiro); Julian Alvarez (River), and Hulk (Mineiro).
