D'Onofrio: "We play to win, but we are not enemies” River’s President and Daniel Angelici, his counterpart at Boca Juniors, met on Monday afternoon at the Argentine Superleague’s headquarters.

The event was held on Monday, September 17th at the first-floor hall of the Superleague’s headquarters, in Puerto Madero. Rodolfo D'Onofrio and Daniel Angelici sent a clear dedramatizing message concerning the Superclásico that will be played next Sunday at Boca Juniors’ Stadium.
“We feel extremely proud to be River’s and Boca’s Presidents. We are proud to be supporters of these clubs. Our mission is to transmit that this is a game, involving a lot of passion and a vast history,” D’Onofrio said.
“When I see the black and white pictures at museums, the goals scored back then, how matches are broadcasted now, I think that the passion and the love felt by the supporters of both clubs remain intact. We are rivals and we play to win, one leaves feeling happy while the other leaves feeling sad; but we’re not enemies, we’re rivals,” he added.
River’s President continued: “We’re lucky to have this match, to be able to enjoy it and experience it. Today is Boca supporter’s turn to experience it and enjoy it, so do that as cordially as possible.”
Through the hashtag #RivalesNoEnemigos (#RivalsNotEnemies), the Superleague will continue these efforts during the week prior to the Superclásico.
