During the first minutes of the match, River started playing better and on the rival’s field, with low plays and linking collective plays to get to Racing’s goal causing danger. Thus, it had two goal situations: a kick by Lucas Alario that the defense blocked, and another one by Milton Casco, which went out.

In its first opportunity and after an unfortunate play, Racing converted the first goal. After a free kick and a bounce, Lucas Martínez Quarta tried to clear the area, but the ball bounced on Lautaro Martínez and it went into Augusto Batalla’s goal.

After that, River’s goalkeeper blocked a strong kick by Marcos Acuña, and El Millonario had clear goal situations with Sebastián Driussi, Jorge Moreira and Gonzalo Martínez, but all the kicks were deflected.

A few minutes of the second half had gone by and Racing scored its second goal after a header by Miguel Ángel Barbieri. Marcelo Gallardo’s team could not catch up, it could not find itself, and the rival team took advantage of that. Marcos Acuña scored the third goal after a one-on-one with Augusto Batalla.

The match gave River enough time only for two goals by Marcelo Larrondo with a cross header and by Jonatan Maidana. Next, River will play against Aldosivi on Wednesday at the Monumental, and next weekend will close the tournament against Colón in Santa Fé. Later, it will focus on the first leg of the round of 16 of the Libertadores Cup.
