On Matchday 6 of the Torneo Apertura, River claimed a 1-0 win over Lanús at the Mâs Monumental, with Miguel Borja scoring the winner and Franco Armani delivering a solid performance.

Following a scoreless draw in Mendoza, River needed to get back to winning ways at home. Early on, the best chances fell to Facundo Colidio and Sebastián Driussi, while Franco Armani made a spectacular save to deny Walter Bou. Still, the first half ended without goals.

In the second half, with full control of the game, Gallardo’s team kept pushing forward. Giuliano Galoppo found the net for the 1-0, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside call on Gonzalo Montiel. After several chances, Miguel Borja finally broke through, scoring the opener with a powerful right-footed shot into the goalkeeper’s left corner.

River had a chance to seal the win with a penalty, but Borja couldn’t find the net. In the final minutes, the captain made two crucial saves to deny Alexis Segovia and Alexis Canelo. This vital win took River to 12 points in the group.
