An incredible goal-filled night As part of the Professional Football League, River beat Argentinos Juniors 3-0 in La Paternal, thanks to goals from Juanfer Quintero, Lucas Beltran, and Agustin Palavecino.

The match started with both teams pressing each other and without clear plays in the starting minutes. The home team made the first attempt, forcing Franco Armani to make a great save on a shot from Javier Cabrera. The River Plate keeper made another good save when Gabriel Avalos tried to surprise him with a shot aimed at the near post, from the right-hand side.
River found it difficult to set up a collective play in the attack and score, though it had an unbeatable chance: Milton Casco sent an on-target shot to Miguel Borja, the Colombian player passed it to Bruno Zuculini, but Federico Lanzillotta made a low save on the shot. Toward the end, River had another chance to score at the feet of the left winger, following a quick run up the field and an overlapping run by Esequiel Barco: Casco struck a shot from outside the box and the ball was deflected, brushing the crossbar.
The second half was off to a similar start: River had the first scoring chance with a shot from Paulo Diaz outside the box, that deflected off the home keeper’s right goalpost. By the middle of the second half, Juanfer Quintero took a free kick and sent the ball into Lanzillotta’s left corner, setting the score at 1-0. Then, Avalos lost a chance to even the score with a header that went high.
Building up momentum, River set the score at 2-0: Lucas Beltran scored after Argentinos Juniors was pressed up the field to make a defensive error. Being in control of the match, River performed brilliantly to score the third goal: the team set up a good collective play that culminated in Beltran tapping the ball to Agustin Palavecino, who struck a powerful right-footed shot in front of the goal.
Thus, River claimed all three points breaking a streak of unfavorable results. On Wednesday, Marcelo Gallardo's team will face Estudiantes de La Plata at the Mâs Monumental stadium.
