The match at the Monumental Stadium found a River with a better and more dangerous look. Warning twice in a row, both at the feet of Rafael Borre. First, the Colombian could not connect a good low center of Milton Casco from the left and then, after assistance from Juan Quintero, could not accommodate before Gabriel Arias exit.
Racing responded in an isolated play, the only one with danger in the first half, after Alejandro Donatti's first shot from a corner. El Millonario found the advantage with a piece of art by Quintero: left-footed at an angle on a free kick from an uncomfortable position to open the scoreboard.
River could have gone to stoppage time with one more goal, after another attempt by Quintero from outside the area and another hand-to-hand from Borre, who positioned himself and defined very close to Arias' left post.
In the restart, River quickly reached the 2-0 after a maneuver by Borre and the rebound that Casco captured: the defender's left-footed shot deflected into two Racing defenders and entered the goal to commence the securing of the match. Quintero instantly got the goal with a shot that went past Arias' left post and then Gonzalo Montiel with a cross head.
With River already as the owner of the match, Nicolás De La Cruz almost took advantage of the first one he had: after Borre's pass, he was able to make his way into the area, but his left foot was too weak and Arias controlled it without problems. In another one, after a header from Lucas Pratto, Roberto Rojas was close to the third. With minutes left, Pratto and Borre failed to define, so as to put a cherry on top of the night.
Thus, Marcelo Gallardo's team completed an ideal night and added three more. River's next match will be this Thursday at Rosario, against Central, for the 15th date. This way, El Millonario will be up to date for the Superliga with the postponed matches.
