Martín Demichelis’ team won 3-1 at the Mâs Monumental stadium, with three goals from the Colombian forward, on Matchday 4 of the Professional Football League.

In the opening minutes, River had an excellent chance after Claudio Echeverri recovered the ball in attack: the young player broke through and sent a cross back that deflected off two opposing players, but they managed to clear it off the line. Tigre responded with another clear chance: Facundo Ferreyra’s cross found Blas Armoa in front of the goal, but the latter couldn’t direct his shot on target.

Facundo Colidio broke away on the left and forced Felipe Zenobio to make a save, sending the ball out for a corner. From that set piece, a handball penalty was awarded, leading to Miguel Borja’s superb finish for the 1-0. Borja had a chance for a second goal, but his shot went high, and the away team troubled Franco Armani with a great play by Agustín Cardozo, and a right-footed shot from Ferreyra that hit the post. At the end of the first half, Gonzalo Maroni equalized from the penalty spot.

In the second half, River had its first chance with a run from Solari, after a good move by Borja in its own half. Tigre tried with a long-range shot from Maroni that went wide. Milton Casco ran up the left side and found Borja in the heart of the box, but the Colombian couldn’t quite connect comfortably.

River widened its lead with yet another stellar goal from the Colombian No. 9, who expertly controlled a pass from Sant’Anna on the right and slotted it home with his left foot, finding the bottom corner with precision. In the following play, Solari broke free, was fouled in the box, and Borja didn’t miss from the penalty spot, securing the 3-1 lead. Demichelis’ team controlled the game without issues, could have scored a few more goals, and secured its third win in four LPF matches.
