U-17: Argentina, a champion with a River Plate element The national team managed by Pablo Aimar has won the South American Championship, which took place in Peru, and will play the World Cup in Brazil.

Argentina’s U-17 national team had a great time in Peru, where the U-17 South American Championship took place. After the group draw, the team managed by Pablo Aimar (former River Plate player) won the Hex final.

Four River Plate players were part of the winning team: Agustín Gómez, Tomás Lecanda, Santiago Simón and Luciano Vera.

The national team ended up third in Group B, after two wins, a tie and a loss:

Argentina 0 - Uruguay 3

Argentina 2 - Colombia 1

Argentina 2 - Paraguay 2

Argentina 3 - Brazil 0
