River turns match around at the Mâs Monumental stadium

The team managed by Martín Demichelis started at a disadvantage against Argentinos Juniors, but took the lead in the second half, with penalty goals from Miguel Borja and Esequiel Barco.
On a historic evening, when fans got to see the brand new construction works carried out in the Club, such as the new grandstands and the single tunnel, River managed to win a match that was off to a rough start in the first half, after Kevin Mac Allister scored with a crossed header off a free kick. River was able to recover, remaining determined and calm, and turned the score around in the second half.
Miguel Borja evened the score with a penalty goal, following a foul on Enzo Pérez. Focused on the attack and going for the win, Esequiel Barco made a pass that was blocked by a rival hand: before VAR review, Fernando Rapallini awarded River a penalty shot and Barco took it, setting the score at 2-1.
The team managed by Demichelis was able to dominate the match, with things going smoothly for the defense, and rounded off a perfect evening filled with River Plate celebrations. River claimed all three points, following the unfair loss in Córdoba, and now sits with six points in the championship. On the next matchday, the team will visit Tigre in Victoria.
