In a fast-paced opening, River Plate pinned Barracas Central in its own half, applying strong pressure up front to prevent the away team from controlling the ball. The first clear scoring chance came after an excellent run down the right by Pablo Solari and a touch from Facundo Colidio, which Marcelo Miño managed to stop at the edge of the goal.
River kept pushing: Solari had another chance with a low, right-footed shot that was deflected by the keeper. Around the 25th minute, Barracas Central had the first approach, and Franco Armani responded well to a dangerous cross from Iván Tapia. In another clear attempt, Colidio pounced on a rebound and tested Miño with a powerful right-footed shot across the goal. Just before halftime, Solari raced down the right and fired a shot, but Claudio Echeverri couldn’t reach Miño’s deflection.
In the second half, River maintained the same approach. Although it struggled to create danger in the first few minutes, it managed a couple of chances through Echeverri. Gallardo made some substitutions, and Pity Martínez was among those who came on, forcing Miño into a save with his first touch, following a corner kick. River’s persistence paid off as the deserved 1-0 came with a header by Maxi Meza, delivered by a cross from Franco Mastantuono.
With the momentum from the goal, River kept pressing and sealed the match with a goal from Miguel Borja after a rebound off the keeper. In the final stretch, Paulo Díaz had his moment, scoring with a shot from outside the box that caught the keeper off guard. Gallardo’s team secured another three points, reaching 36 in the Liga Profesional de Fútbol standings.
