River’s spectacular celebration for its 120 years The online event took place in the lead-up to one more anniversary, at the Monumental Stadium, and its live broadcast had a great response: more than a million people were able to enjoy it, thousands of fans were connected, and there was a great deal of interaction.

On the night of May 24th, the Club organized an online event to celebrate River’s 120 years, which was broadcast live on all its social networks from the Monumental Stadium. The event was very moving, some of the guests who attended the live video call were historic key figures of the Club and many idols, key sports figures, and celebrities sent their greetings. As an important gesture of appreciation for River Plate’s history, there was also a live broadcast from the River Museum, in which a tour of different sectors and unforgettable moments was given.

Agostina Scalise and Germán Paoloski were the presenters who kicked off the celebration. They welcomed Rodolfo D’Onofrio at a set that was specially built on the Centenario grandstand. River’s President addressed the thousands of fans who were watching the broadcast on their computers, phones, and other mobile devices. The other guest was none other than Enzo Francescoli, one of the Club’s idols and the incumbent Technical Secretary. Furthermore, Jorge Brito, the Institution’s 1st Vice President, took part in the event virtually.

Different audiovisual materials that the Club prepared for the 120-year anniversary were shown throughout the night. There was also a moment to remember the everlasting Amadeo Carrizo and to find out about the solidarity initiatives the River Foundation carries out. Right after the clock struck midnight, the institutional video appeared on the screen to celebrate a new anniversary, with Marcelo Gallardo as a protagonist and the caption "To live and play with Greatness".

Toward the end of the night, the Club honored its emblematic sportswomen by means of a collection of graphic media covers. Then, Beto Alonso sent a message through a video call and remembered his most glorious moments wearing the River jersey. Gonzalo Martínez, one of the heroes of Madrid, was also present and made the whole River Plate community happy once more. Closing the event, D’Onofrio mentioned the present that River was going to give to all its members: a part of the historic running track.

AN INCREDIBLE BROADCAST
River fans throughout the world were able to watch the event live on River’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, with top-notch quality.

On YouTube, the event has more than 315,000 total views so far and more than 21,000 likes. Regarding user interaction, it has 516 comments and more than 106,000 messages on the live chat.

On Facebook, its reach has surpassed 700,000 people, with 161,500 interactions and more than 23,500 comments.

Several national and international media outlets have talked about the event. It was also the number-one trending topic during its broadcast on the night of the 24th and was still trending on social media throughout the 25th.

The video included more than 70 greetings from different parts of the world. Some of the key figures that were featured were Nery Pumpido, Pinino Más, Daniel Onega, Mario Kempes, Ariel Ortega, Hernán Díaz, Juan Pablo Sorin, Hernán Crespo, Javier Saviola, Pablo Aimar, Sergio Berti, Germán Burgos, Leonardo Astrada, Andrés D’Alessandro, Chori Domínguez, Matías Almeyda, Diego Buonanotte, Lucas Ocampos, Erik Lamela, Manuel Lanzini, and David Trezeguet.
