Marcelo Gallardo’s team delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Rosario Central at the Mâs Monumental stadium, with goals from Pablo Solari (2), Miguel Borja, and Gonzalo Martínez.
River had the first clear opportunity just five minutes into the match, thanks to an impressive solo play by Claudio Echeverri. His low shot was saved by Jorge Broun, and on the rebound, Fabricio Bustos sent a right-footed strike just wide of the goal. In another chance, Rodrigo Villagra delivered a long pass to Pablo Solari, whose near-post shot was once again stopped by Broun.
River controlled the game, pinning Rosario Central deep in its own half. After a series of passes in River’s attacking half, Villagra tried a long-range shot, but the visiting keeper made another solid save on his left post. Toward the end of the first half, Gallardo’s team created multiple chances and finally opened the scoring with a superb cross-shot finish from Solari.
In the second half, River showed no mercy, sealing the match with another goal from Solari, a well-placed strike by Miguel Borja, and a penalty converted by Pity Martínez. With one match left in the season, River has officially secured qualification for the next edition of the CONMEBOL Libertadores. The final match in the LPF will be against Racing in Avellaneda.
