El Millionario dominated the game since the first minutes of the match and didn't take long to threaten Rodrigo Rey's goal : with several attempts made on both sides of the pitch, Gonzalo Montiel was close to scoring the first goal after a great pass by Milton Casco. Nonetheless, in the next play, Matías Suárez jumped higher than everyone and kicked a precise center pass by Nicolás De La Cruz into the net.

River went for more and almost widened the lead with a left-footed shot by Nacho Fernández, which was slightly deflected. Then, Casco fired a cross-shot and almost scored the second goal. Montiel had the second chance through a very clear play saved by Rey on his first goalpost. In another attempt, Suárez didn't get to head Casco's pass.

The first half ended with three more attempts: an overlapping run by Suárez which almost turned into an own goal; a header by Paulo Díaz and a free-kick by De La Cruz. At the beginning of the last half, River displayed the same idea, going forward to seal the match with a solid defense protecting Franco Armani's goal.

Borré had three clear opportunities: he could’t catch a center pass from Montiel, he wasn’t able to turn a great assist by Suárez into a goal and his shot deflected in a one-on-one play. Thus, clear chances arrived, but this time el Millionario wasn't as effective as in other matches. Borré took part in almost all dangerous plays and Nacho Fernández almost widened the lead with a free-kick which hit the crossbar.

River sealed an important victory, which has given it a three-point lead over the other teams, making it the only leader of the Superleague. The following matchday is next Sunday, at the Monumental Stadium, against Santiago del Estero's Central Córdoba.
