River evens score with two amazing goals by Palavecino The midfielder scored two great goals for River to draw 2-2 with Rosario Central, which was two goals up, on the Professional League’s 23rd matchday.

The match in Rosario was off to a tight start, with both teams sharing ball possession. Rosario Central had two shots on goal: Franco Armani was quick to save the first one, and the other shot, a header by Damian Martinez, went high. El Millonario counterattacked with a shot by Braian Romero, who took advantage of a mistake by the home defense.

Then, Rosario took the lead thanks to a good shot by Marco Ruben off a pass from Emiliano Vecchio. River reacted and had two chances to even the score with shots from outside the box by Agustin Palavecino and Julian Alvarez, but both went high over Juan Pablo Romero’s crossbar. At the end of the first half, Armani excellently saved Central’s No. 10’s second shot.

Gallardo's team was very close to evening the score at the start of the second half: Julian went one on one with Romero on the left-hand side, but his shot was blocked by the keeper’s foot. On a run up the left-hand side, Lautaro Blanco struck an on-target cross, and Ruben set the score at 2-0 with a header. River almost took one back thanks to a header by Robert Rojas toward the center of the box off a cross from the left.

In the 67th minute, el Millonario set up a great attacking play involving Jorge Carrascal and Julian for Palavecino to skillfully strike the ball from outside the area and even the score at the Gigante de Arroyito Stadium. River kept going and evened the score with a spectacular goal by Palavecino, who struck another shot from outside the area off a pass from Carrascal, lashing the ball into Romero’s left corner.

River finished better off and was close to turning the match around, but the final score was 2-2. Thus, the champion keeps the undefeated streak alive, is still scoring goals and now awaits the next matchday to play against Defensa y Justicia at the Monumental Stadium.
