River celebrates the third anniversary of the eternal glory On Thursday, December 9th, the Club held a spectacular event at the Monumental Stadium, which was attended by the professional squad and Marcelo Gallardo.

Another year has gone by since the most important match in history. On this new anniversary, the third one, as River Plate celebrates the Professional League lap of honor, the fans have filled the Monumental Stadium to celebrate with the players the unforgettable feat at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Hosted by Agostina Scalise and Matias Martin, the party began with a video about the match and then, there was a tribute to the fans that included a group of fans who talked about their experiences directly from the stadium. After that, the players came onto the field while being cheered on, alongside Marcelo Gallardo and the coaching staff.

Leonardo Ponzio was the first to take the floor, he thanked everyone and said: “It was a dream come true, we enjoyed it a lot. It’ll go down in history and we're here today because of that.” Then, the rest expressed their feelings: Javier Pinola, Jonatan Maidana, Franco Armani, Milton Casco, Enzo Perez, Enrique Bologna, and German Lux.

The music show began with a live performance by Pibes Chorros. Then, Rodolfo D’Onofrio and Jorge Brito sat with the hosts in the central circle to share how they experienced that historic match in Spain. Several former River Plate players were present on video: Rafael Borre, Pity Martinez, Nacho Scocco, Camilo Mayada, Nacho Fernandez, Lucas Martinez Quarta, Gonzalo Montiel, Lucas Pratto, Exequiel Palacios, and Juan Quintero.

After the second live performance by La Mosca, the party continued with Julian Alvarez, one of the members of the current professional squad, who also played the final in Madrid, Bruno Zuculini, Nicolas De La Cruz, Enzo Fernandez, Braian Romero, and Matias Suarez. Furthermore, the freestyler Stuart improvised and drove the fans crazy on all four sides of the Stadium.

After revisiting the goals scored at the Bernabeu Stadium, Gallardo was cheered by the fans and said: “Thank you for all the love.” He sang with the River Plate fans, while jumping and hugging the players in the heart of the field. To bring this magical night to an end, Agapornis made the Monumental Stadium sing and dance.
