Marcelo Gallardo’s team secured a commanding 3-0 win over Barracas Central at the Mâs Monumental, with goals from Paulo Díaz, Nacho Fernández, and Marcos Acuña. River will now face Platense at home for a place in the semifinals.

River enjoyed another strong performance on the pitch. At a vibrant Mâs Monumental, as impressive as ever, the fans witnessed a convincing win over Barracas Central. The victory began to take shape early on with Paulo Díaz’s goal, which came from a well-placed free kick by Kevin Castaño and a clever headed assist from Gonzalo Montiel.

Shortly before halftime, River made it 2-0 after a brilliant individual play by Franco Mastantuono and a well-placed finish by Nacho Fernández. Gallardo’s team remained in full control and found the net again through Fabricio Bustos, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review for a prior foul. River kept pushing and eventually sealed the win with a stunning strike from Marcos Acuña.

The team now prepares for Thursday’s CONMEBOL Libertadores match against Independiente del Valle, before facing Platense in the Apertura quarterfinals.
