After a dramatic last-minute draw in Vicente López against Platense, River managed to edge past a tough match at home. Despite struggling to create clear chances, the Millonario secured the win at the end when Gonzalo Montiel found the net, capitalizing on a header by Paulo Díaz that hit one of the posts.

Earlier, River had a few opportunities through Miguel Borja and dangerous crosses from the left flank. In the second half, Gonzalo Tapia had a golden opportunity but failed to find the target. Instituto, on the other hand, created little danger, with only an early attacking move and a long-range shot from Alex Luna that Franco Armani saved at his left post.

With this win, River now sits on four points and will turn its focus to Sunday’s away match against San Lorenzo, on Matchday 3 of the Torneo Apertura.
