ESIn the Round of 16, River will play against Athletico Paranaense Marcelo Gallardo's team already knows its rival for the next stage of the CONMEBOL Libertadores. The first leg will be played in Brazil and the second one will take place in Buenos Aires.
On Friday, the CONMEBOL Libertadores’s Round of 16 draw was carried out in Paraguay: the eight matches in this stage were defined by confronting the top team of each group against those which came in second.
River Plate will play against Athletico Paranaense, a rival which it already faced in last year's Recopa. River will play the first match on November 24th (at 7:15 pm) as the away team. The second leg will take place on December 1st, at the same time.
It is worth highlighting that the winner of this bracket will play against the winner of Independiente del Valle (Ecuador) vs. Nacional (Uruguay).
The rest of the matches in the Round of 16 are: Guaraní vs. Gremio; Independiente del Valle vs. Nacional; Delfín vs. Palmeiras; Internacional vs. Boca Juniors; Racing vs. Flamengo; Libertad vs. Jorge Wilstermann; Liga de Quito vs. Santos.
